Book ratings by Goodreads. And that’s not completely unexpected because it is, in fact, a comedian who wrote it, but I’m not really sure it should be labeled as a “poetry” book. This is because Bo Burnham is the personification of brilliance and his book is an excellent representation of himself.

Collaborating with longtime friend, artist and illustrator Chance Burnhwm, Bo writes about everything from painful breakups to bald barbers, in a collection that makes the reader laugh, but like his stand-up and music, also displays surprisingly mature insights.

I think that almost every line of Egghead ‘s like Shel Silverstein. It is not that they are overly intricate or mind blowing in their beauty, but the fact that they perfectly match the sentiment of the poems they are for.

This poem illustrates that perfectly, and subtly. Don’t get me wrong, I was a fan of Bo Burnham long before he started writing this; I just think, given some of the things he’s come up with in the past, this could have been so much better than it was.

This book is no different.

I love Bo Burnham’s music and stand up, but this book just didn’t reach my expectations.

Feb 06, Lex Javier rated it did not like it. Good but I feel ripped off I loved it and it made me laugh but it was way too short and not worth the money. This book is just Bo, yo. Bo Burnham was a teenager living in his parents’ attic in Massachusetts when he started posting funny songs to YouTube that immediately turned heads with their wise satire that belied his very young age. I would certainly listen to Egghead. Although even if you don’t completely share his humor, I One of those books that deserves a buy.
